The Black Sun is not merely an object - it is an archetypal force. A presence both radiant and ravenous, it intrudes upon the system (a life, a psyche, a world) with gravitational inevitability. Like a black hole that devours light yet shapes galaxies, and like a sun that sustains life yet burns, the Black Sun embodies paradox: destruction as genesis, creation through collapse.

 

This series explores the moment of encounter - the instant an external force breaches the boundaries of the known. The Black Sun is the other that disrupts, consumes, transforms. It is the lover who shatters illusions, the grief that births new clarity, the truth that destabilizes yet sets one free.

 

Alchemical in its essence, the Black Sun echoes the nigredo stage of transformation: the dark night of the soul where decomposition gives rise to transmutation. In this darkness, the system must respond—resist, absorb, or evolve.
